近日，大气环境中心首席科学家李旭辉及其团队的研究论文《Strong contributions of local background climate to urban heat islands》发表在国际著名科技期刊《Nature》（2014年7月10日）。该论文利用地表温度及植被覆被的卫星遥感数据并结合气候模式对北美地区的65个城市进行了分析，首次量化了不同因素对城市热岛效应的影响。
