近日，我校地理与遥感学院副教授丁海勇以第一作者身份（我校为第一单位）与美国马里兰大学环境科学中心副教授Andrew J. Almore合作，在世界著名遥感科学期刊Remote Sensing of Environment[168（2015）:335-348，该刊物的五年平均影响因子为7.769]上发表题为“Spatio-temporal patterns in water surface temperature from Landsat time series data in the Chesapeake Bay, U.S.A”的研究论文（journal homepage: www.elsevier.com/locate/rse）。
该文利用1980年以来的Landsat卫星遥感数据对美国切萨比克湾水体温度的时空分布及变化趋势进行了建模分析。研究结果表明，自上世纪80年代以来，切萨比克湾的水体温度以1.2华氏度/十年的速度上升；超过92%的水体及支流水体都表现出升温趋势；在巴尔的摩市的附近水域及发电站附近水域的水体升温趋势更加明显。该文首次论述了水体温度在全球变暖、城市化发展和工业发展等因素的综合影响下也在暖化。
该文一经发表，立即引起华盛顿邮报等美国多家媒体的关注，截至10月26日，至少十三家媒体报道了该项研究成果。
